These sights of spring - poem

These sights of spring
Like jarring images
Of war, a snowflake
For the new bud
An icicle for the
Stunted crocus

Where is the trust of spring?
The catapult of longer days
Days, into blue-yellow nights?

The pull is here
By an unknown hand
Toward the wider vision
Of nature and things
Of nature you hold dear
To your sad heart.
